We have been dealing with House Doctors and their outstanding workers, led by an outstanding owner, for almost 15 years. At least 4-5 projects with work done in an outstanding manner. Working with the owner Rich Marzan is a joy. He is patient and when he recommends something you never feel like you are being taken advantage of. His team has, so far, completed 3 work projects on my home. A 4th will be Monday, 14 July. The workers are top notch from start to finish and clean-up. If you have a problem with a project that he has signed up with, he will resolve it with you being happy about it. Last but least, I must include Ms. Angela, whom I have dealt with from my beginning with dealing with House Doctors, that makes all of the scheduling, payment, etc., with a kind voice, always ready to help you, and patience. Patience is important when dealing with people when you are doing business with them. Especially old people. I am one.

We have called on the House Doctors a few times now for odd jobs around the house that were a little bigger than we could handle, such as fixing the garbage disposal, anchoring cabinets to the wall, hanging the TV, etc. They are always punctual and polite, they do free estimates, and they have excellent old-fashioned customer service. For instance, you can order parts through them, or they'll send you a link of what to order so you can order it yourself and save money.

We have had two projects done (so far) by House Doctors: 1) converting an under-staircase deep closet into two more usable closets, and 2) removing sidelights from our front door and closing them in and making it all look nice.
We're super happy with their work on both projects—from start to finish they ask the right questions, come up with ideas and suggestions, and have a can-do attitude about solving issues, whereas other contractors sort of shrugged or told me we couldn't do things the way I wanted them. The quotes we got from House Doctors were also pretty reasonable, and the work was professional, done quickly, and just what we'd wanted. The crews were polite, competent, and cleaned up well. We'll use them again for sure!

We called on House Doctors Handyman of McLean to provide us with an estimate for removing a completely stripped screw from a shower curtain rod that we were unable to remove without fear of damaging the underlying tile. The estimator arrived and, within about 10 minutes, was able to remove the screw and did not charge us. The next time we need any repairs around the house, they will be first on our list to call.

However, a few days before my closing in Feb 2025, the crazy winds partially pulled my storm door off the frame. Rich, his office staffer Angela, and work crew led by Carlos responded quickly and completed the project in 1 day. The door is actually stronger than before and ready for closing. I am very happy with the work House Doctor did on my house in January 2025, and recommend them without reservation. They repaired miscellaneous broken stuff: replaced closers on a storm door; patched a large hole in a drywall panel; installed a new light in the laundry room; installed a shower head and grab bars in two bathrooms; put up a new air return grill; rehung accordion-style closet doors with new pins. I got three bids for the work, and House Doctor’s proposal stood out, both for clarity and for the price. From owner Rich’s first visit to the completion of the job, everything went very smoothly. His job proposal, broken out by individual jobs, was clear in all respects. He was very helpful in identifying materials which I could get on my own. The technicians who did the work arrived as scheduled. They (Carlos, Mauricio, and Byron) did their work with care and answered every question I had completely. Everything was done neatly and they cleaned up completely. All the work was excellent, and the drywall repair was outstanding. They matched the existing paint, and it’s like the hole was never there. Rich stopped by to check the work and make sure I was satisfied. It was a pleasant instead of a stressful experience. I intend to call them again when I have work to do.

Then two "doctors" spent an afternoon working on the lazy Susan, despite lack of appropriate parts. Success! The lazy Susan now works perfectly. This company is incredible! It is the first time we called them, and the estimator came quickly and gave us a very reasonable estimate for the work.
