This is the first time I engaged the services of House Doctors Handyman of McLean. And, given this experience, I plan to engage them again and again. Our house is a bit old and there are many opportunities for repairs to the house. I think I have finally found a good company I can trust to make excellent repairs on those types of "handyman jobs" and repairs that do not require a complete reconstruction (although these Doctors might do those, too). In this instance, I had a hole in the ceiling drywall that needed to be repaired because of a leak. The leak was fixed, but the plumber does not fix ceilings. Enter House Doctor Benjamin Carrillo. He did a fantastic job. You cannot tell that there was ever a hole in that ceiling. And he left the area so clean afterwards; no debris left behind. Excellent work!

My wife and I have used House Doctors for several projects and always found their work done well and their staff competent. But our interior drywall repair project (April, 2022) turned out to be very challenging. Once the old drywall was removed, the workers found that the framing was all rotted away. The crew supervisor from House Doctors came to devise a plan and new schedule to include the needed major carpentry work involving an angled ceiling near windows. The work schedule was revised without delay and carpenters came the next day to get the job done. All this was done without a hiatus in the work and at a very reasonable, affordable price despite the major change in the type and amount of work needed. Instead of just drywall replacement, the job required replacing wood framing, protecting electrical wiring, cutting new drywall, removing and replacing wood baseboards, sanding, and painting. We were very impressed with the professional approach of all the staff, and the communication from House Doctors each step in the revised schedule. The workmen covered furniture and floors, cleaned up each day, and completed the work on time and to our complete satisfaction. We cannot say enough about House Doctors services, the work they did for us was 5-Star all the way.

We called on House Doctors Handyman of McLean to provide us with an estimate for removing a completely stripped screw from a shower curtain rod that we were unable to remove without fear of damaging the underlying tile. I am very happy with the work House Doctor did on my house in January 2025, and recommend them without reservation. They repaired miscellaneous broken stuff: replaced closers on a storm door; patched a large hole in a drywall panel; installed a new light in the laundry room; installed a shower head and grab bars in two bathrooms; put up a new air return grill; rehung accordion-style closet doors with new pins. I got three bids for the work, and House Doctor’s proposal stood out, both for clarity and for the price. From owner Rich’s first visit to the completion of the job, everything went very smoothly. His job proposal, broken out by individual jobs, was clear in all respects. He was very helpful in identifying materials which I could get on my own.
