Q. Every year, we seem to have the same problems with our attached garage. Water and little critters keep coming in from the outside, and when the wind blows, the garage turns ice cold. Is there anyway to stop this from happening?

Dean and Kelly, Rochester, New York

A. If you’ve already checked around the inside of your garage walls and don’t see any holes or cracks that may allow these annoyances in, you may have a problem with your weather stripping. Check to see how tight your weather stripping is, and make sure it is fixed against the door. If it is worn, replace it immediately. This should save you from having to deal with future annoyances, and may also save you money on your heating bill.
